This totally reminds me of the Westfalia camper van my family had in the 1990s when we zipped through Europe like a bunch of vagabonds.
Dude, I totally remember that! Makes me want to buy some $500 van and fix it up to travel around in…good times good time ;) Remember the times you, me, Mom, and Dad used to stop at roadside honey stands in Austria to nibble on fresh honeycomb? Or the times that we stopped for “elephant ears” smothered with garlic oil in Hungary? Ahhh those were the days…

Among victims of sexual abuse, the inability to trust is pronounced, which also contributes to secrecy and non-disclosure.

Children often fail to report because of the fear that disclosure will bring consequences even worse than being victimized again. The victim may fear consequences from the family, feel guilty for consequences to the perpetrator, and may fear subsequent retaliatory actions from the perpetrator.

Its days like these when I realize just how fucked up my past has made me. As a victim of child sex abuse, I have a deeply rooted fear of being taken advantage of. This is a death sentence for love. How can I change something that shaped me so long ago? Can I ever learn how to trust completely?
goodbye springtime…
